The “Italian” Mechanism

The Italian mechanism, which has been distributed in Canada for many years, is characterized by 2 white metal cases, each containing 9 adjustable tension springs. The bed door is supported by 2 retractable chrome finish legs. This highly reliable mechanism is designed for residential use and is ideal for twin or double vertical beds as well as all for lateral beds.

Advantages :

• More affordable than the Murphy mechanism
• The mattress box is the same color as the rest of the bed
• Suitable for mattresses weighing up to 80 pounds

Disadvantages :

• Handling of the 2 retractable legs
• Is not available for our vertical queen models, because the door would be too heavy to lift

The “Murphy Bed^MC” Mechanism

Distributed exclusively in Quebec by , the Murphy Bed TM mechanism is characterized by its black steel structure, its extra strong spring mechanism and its large folding leg. It is intended for residential use and is designed to be used with all vertical beds. The Murphy Bed mechanism is always used with queen vertical beds and all double vertical beds with a composite façade (Oxford, Havana and New England). This mechanism is also optional for other twin and double vertical beds.

This mechanism is also available in aluminum for commercial use (hotels, hospitals, etc.). Special orders are accepted upon request.
