Manufacture of Wall Beds

All Boomrang wall beds and storage units are made in Quebec in accordance with high quality standards. Details and design are closely supervised during all production phases.

As Mobilier Boomrang is aware of environmental protection issues, it cooperates with “green” local and regional partners.

Combo

Apart from a few models, most of the Boomrang collection models feature a melamine case with a yellow birch wood façade and moldings.

This way, we are able to keep the appearance of wood furniture at reduced manufacturing costs.

Wall Bed Mattress

logo_boomrangThe new and improved wall bed mechanisms can now accommodate most of the traditional spring and foam mattresses. Mattresses must be no more than 9-inches deep for the sheets and comforter to remain inside the bed once it is closed.

Standard mattress dimensions:

Note that the mattress is never included in the price of a wall bed. It is recommended to have the mattress on site when the wall bed is installed in order to adjust the tension of the spring mechanism.

Foam Mattress

Traditional Foam Mattress (polyurethane)

This type of mattress is preferred for its light weight. The quality of these mattresses depends on the density of foam used, and their comfort ranges from very soft to very firm.

Advantages of a foam mattress:
Disadvantages:

New Viscoelastic Foam

“Tempur” or “Nasa” memory foam mattress brands are very popular, but are not designed for wall beds. These mattresses are very heavy and do not provide any rigidity in the vertical position.

100% latex mattresses

are also very popular, but are not appropriate for wall beds. These mattresses are very heavy and do not provide any rigidity in the vertical position.

Futon mattresses

are not appropriate for wall beds. These mattresses do not provide any rigidity in the vertical position.

Hybrid Foam Mattress

A hybrid foam mattress is the only mattress offering the comfort of a viscose or latex mattress in a wall bed. This type of mattress is made of a traditional foam base offering rigidity in vertical position with a top “comfort” layer in viscose or latex.

Spring Mattress

Traditional Spring Mattress

You can now use a traditional spring mattress with the new wall bed mechanisms.

Advantage of a spring mattress:
Disadvantages:

Continuous or Individual Spring Mattress

These two types of mattresses are not recommended for wall beds. They contain a large amount of small metal springs, considerably increasing their weight. Also, some of the manufacturers will not honor your warranty if the mattress is placed vertically when not used, because mini-springs could misalign.
